Dentures Frank W. Sallustio DDS, MS, FACP AZ 85375-4486If you have just a few missing teeth, Partial Dentures are the right thing to look for. They are a removable prosthesis that replace your missing teeth.

People that use these are missing a small number of teeth, but their remaining teeth are healthy enough that they do not need to be removed. Partial dentures will help prevent your bone and gum loss in the areas that your teeth are missing. There are several different types of partial dentures.

When you come for a visit, we will look at your remaining teeth, your gums, and the structure of your jaw bone. This information that we collect from your mouth will develop a customized treatment plan that works for you. We will also talk about the different types of partial dentures and which one would be right for you.

Different Types of Partial Dentures

•  Conventional dentures are metal or plastic clasps that hold your replacement teeth in place by hooking around your remaining teeth on each side of the gap. This partial denture is very easy to remove.
•  Precision or semi-precision dentures. These are a customized extension of your partial denture that fits onto your natural tooth that has been crowned. It will fit snugly and consist of metal.
•  Implant over-denture is a type of partial denture that is used with a dental implant. There will be attachments that will be placed on the bottom of the partial that will be connected to the dental implant and it will go above your gum line. This will also be easily removed.

There are plenty of advantages to having Partial Dentures. They prevent you from losing bone and gum tissue and they also give back your ability to speak and eat normally.

They will restore the way your face use to look before you had missing teeth. Partials also prevent your remaining teeth from shifting and fill in the gaps that was left by your missing teeth.

It will also prevent future dental problems like clenching, grinding, and TMJ/TMD. It will also restore your self-confidence and make you want to smile more often. So, if you think you need Partial Dentures or have any questions or concerns, please call us for an appointment!
