![]() Which is better? That really depends on your unique situation and oral health. There are some cases where single implants are the way to go, but there are also times when full arches are the better option. How Many Teeth Need Replaced? If you have most of your teeth, but need to replace a few of them, doing single implants is likely going to be the best option. This is especially true if the missing teeth are not next to each other. If the teeth in between are healthy, there's no reason to remove them to put in full arches. However, if you have many teeth that have decayed or are otherwise unhealthy, it may be better to actually have them all removed and full arches put in. This way, there's no need to come back later and have more single implants put in. Everything can be done at once. Do You Have Dentures Already? If you're currently using dentures, even if they're only partial dentures, having full arches put in may be the best option. This way, you're not dealing with part implants and part dentures. Everything is done as implants, and you no longer have to deal with your dentures.Your Jaw Bone Is StrongIf your jaw bone hasn't degenerated and is strong enough to hold up multiple implants, doing single implants here and there may be fine. However, if you're in need of bone grafting to strengthen the jaw bone, it may be better to have all of the grafting done at the points where the posts for all-on-4 implants go. This way, you only have to worry about one grafting procedure.Have further questions about implants? Contact us today to set up an appointment to talk to one of our dentists. |
